Our VisionWelcome!

Improved preventive, disease modifying, and acute therapy for patients suffering from neurodegenerative disease.

Our Mission

Clinical, translational and experimental studies to improve our understanding of patients needs, therapeutic interventions and pathogenesis.

Clinic and Research

Despite increasing research efforts our current therapeutic options for the treatment of all major neurodegenerative disorders are limited. Although, most of these diseases have been described a long time ago, no effective therapeutic interventions have been developed so far.

Therefore, the major aim of our work is to understand the factors that are involved in the development of these diseases. The overarching goal is to translate generated knowledge into the clinic to prevent neurodegenerative diseases, to modify the disease course, and to provide therapeutics to patients.

Our scientific work focuses on the characterisation of innate immune mechanisms in Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease and others neurodegenerative diseases. We hope to identify biomarkers for early disease detection and to uncover disease mechanisms that provide new targets for therapeutic intervention.
